Coorparoo Football Club were an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo. Their club colours were navy blue and white and they were nicknamed the Roos.[1]
Formed in 1935, Coorparoo played in the QANFL from 1941 to 1963 and the QAFL from 1964 to 1993. For the 1953 and 1954 seasons they merged with Yeronga.
Footballers to have played or coached at the club include Carl Ditterich, Jason Dunstall, Kevin O'Keeffe, John Pitura and Bill Ryan.
After the 1993 season, the original Coorparoo club folded, however the name continues in the form of the Coorparoo Kings, a football club who commenced as the Treasury Kings in 1996 as the representative side of the Treasury Casino. Since moving to Coorparoo's former home ground in 1999, the Treasury Kings have been known as the Coorparoo Kings and play in the AFLQ State Association.
